The HE/HO PTA is a vibrant, volunteer-based organization that offers fun and fulfilling ways for parents to become more involved in the Henking-Hoffman community. We plan a wide variety of activities throughout the school year to complement and enrich the excellent education our students receive in District 34. From the Character Counts Food Drive to International Night, we aim to inspire compassion, foster community, and create meaningful opportunities for our children to engage with one another.
In addition to organizing these events, the HE/HO PTA is committed to making a lasting impact on our schools by helping fund capital improvements—such as the new playgrounds and outdoor shade structures—that benefit students for years to come.
Our Impact & Events
The HE/HO PTA is dedicated to making a meaningful and lasting impact on the learning environments at Henking and Hoffman. We help fund essential equipment and capital improvements—like the new playgrounds built at Henking in 2017 and Hoffman in 2018—that directly benefit our students.
We also host a variety of fun social events throughout the year to build community and raise funds for our programs. Favorites include the Fall Backyard Bash, Annual Spring Benefit, Pancakes and Pajamas, Kindergarten Parents Meet & Greet, Witches Ride, Dine-Out Nights, and so much more!
In January 2025, we proudly brought back the annual Read-A-Thon, an initiative designed to kick off the new year by reinforcing a love of reading in our children. In addition, the PTA organizes two Scholastic Book Fairs each year. The scholastic dollars earned from these fairs support both schools by funding valuable resources like online learning subscriptions—available to every student.
Community Outreach
The HE/HO PTA organizes a wide variety of activities throughout the school year to complement and enrich the excellent education our students receive in District 34. Programs like the Character Counts Food Drive and Holiday Helper inspire compassion and empathy by encouraging students to think of others while supporting local families in need. We also broaden our students’ horizons through engaging experiences such as visiting authors, cultural arts assemblies, the Artist-in-Residence program, and International Night, all of which offer valuable new perspectives and celebrate diversity. Family-friendly events like the Book Fair, Pancakes and Pajamas, and Wolves Family Day Out help strengthen our sense of community and create opportunities for families to connect and get to know their neighbors.

Spirit Fridays!
This past school year, we introduced Spirit Fridays at both Henking and Hoffman schools, and it has truly brought a wonderful sense of community and school spirit to our staff and students. Thank you to everyone who shows their pride by wearing spirit wear or school colors each week!
